A clinical practice holds two kinds of information: how the practice runs, and who its patients are. Ciolk holds the first kind only, by construction, until the second kind is covered by a signed agreement.

Quotes carry a reference, not a patient. Captures are of the operatory, equipment and supply invoices — never a patient image. Checklists and closes are sealed when written; a date range exports as a packet.

Built for the day an inspector asks
For a practice the operational record is what gets asked for: was the sterilizer logged, was the operatory checked, when. These four things happen by construction on every plan the practice can buy.
Every checklist run, quote and invoice is hashed when written.
SHA-256 over key-ordered data. An edit after sealing changes the hash, and the change is visible to anyone who holds the original receipt.
Each day's records are chained to the day before.
A deleted or backdated record breaks every subsequent day, not just its own. Verification also compares the sealed record count, so a chain cannot be quietly shortened.
A date range becomes a packet.

Anyone can check a hash without an account.

Practices ask whether Ciolk replaces the practice-management system or sits beside it. Today: beside, for operations only. Fee schedules and vendor lists come in by CSV; nothing patient-shaped comes in at all. No direct integrations exist yet; the ones below are labeled by their real status.

Can a dental office use this?
Yes, for the operation: treatment-plan pricing from your fee schedule, supplies, sealed sanitation and equipment checklists, team, and proof. Not for patients: no patient records, exam images or recall until our HIPAA program is live. A CLINICAL account is configured so patient information cannot be entered.
Will you sign a BAA?
Not today. The program — subprocessor agreements, an isolated database, MFA, a read-access audit log, then a BAA for customers — is written down on the security page with its status, and each step is announced in the changelog when it lands.
What does a treatment-plan quote look like without a patient?
A reference (like TP-0412) instead of a name, the work described in plain language, the price in exact dollars from your fee schedule, and a deposit field. The practice keeps the mapping from reference to patient in its own system of record. Open the sample — fictional practice, real page.
What happens to the photos?
Captures are of the operatory, equipment and supply invoices. They are analyzed and the findings are stored as a sealed record; the photo bytes sit in a private bucket, addressed by hash under your practice, served only through short-lived signed links. Photos of patients are not accepted.
How much staff training does it take?
The front desk learns the checklists and the book in an afternoon. Capture is a camera and a button. Setup is a few minutes to a first sealed checklist or quote.
